FEAST DAY OF SAINT MARK
Today, April 25 is the feast day of our patron saint, St. Mark, the Evangelist. We culminate our 3-day novena (April 23-25 Triduum) at 6:00 pm in church.

St. Catherine was a third-order Dominican, peacemaker and counselor to the Pope. She singlehandedly ended the Avignon exile of the successors of Peter in the 14th century. She was born in Siena, on the feast of the Annunciation, March 25, 1347
She joined the Dominican Tertiaries and lived a deep and solitary life of prayer and meditation. She ended her solitude after three years and began tending to the sick, poor, and marginalized, especially lepers.
In 1375, while visiting Pisa, she received the stigmata, even though they never appeared on her body during her lifetime, owing to her request to God. They appeared only on her incorruptible body after her death.

There is very little about the life of Joseph in Scripture but still, we know that he was the chaste husband of Mary, the foster father of Jesus, a carpenter and a man who was not wealthy. We also know that he came from the royal lineage of King David.
We can see from his actions in Scripture that Joseph was a compassionate man, and obedient to the will of God. He also loved Mary and Jesus and wanted to protect and provide for them.

Youth Faith Formation Year-end Mass & Fellowship
On Sunday, May 5, we invite the community to join us in celebrating the dedication of our young students and families in CCD and Youth Confirmation, as another wonderful school year comes to a close. The activities we have lined up are:
- Mass at 11:30 am We thank the Lord in celebration of the blessings we have received in our life in the Church and our Faith Formation Programs.
- Crowning of Mary Being the month of May, we dedicate this special event to our Blessed Mother Mary. After the Mass, we will process to the grotto and have a simple ceremony, where we will offer flowers and crown Mary.
- Fellowship Lunch Join us at the Parish Center where we will be serving family-friendly food that both kids, and the young at heart, will enjoy!
- Recognition Ceremony We will have a brief ceremony to acknowledge all of our CCD and Youth Confirmation students who have completed their classes this school year.
If you are able and wish to do so, please feel free to bring a dish or dessert to share as well. In order to have a proper headcount for our food, please RSVP if you are attending by clicking below. We are looking forward to celebrating with you all!

Excell Network Breakfast
On Saturday, April 20, forty guests gathered at the Fr. Flanagan Center for the monthly Excell Network breakfast. The Saint Mark Social Justice Ministry and the Archdiocese Office of Restorative Justice thank you for joining us and raising $530 to benefit students seeking a better path after incarceration. We are grateful to the Saint Mark Vincentians for your hospitality and a delicious meal. And we deeply appreciate Jerry Don Evans, the Excell Network student who shared with us his journey.
How did Mr. Evans redirect his steps?When he understood that nobody finds joy in life alone - We only go where we are meant to be through community. God bless the Saint Mark community for your support of Don and the Excell Network; you are essential to this ministry.

Ladies Guild : May Day Celebration
Calling all Ladies of the Parish, join us for a Ladies Guild MAY DAY celebration which includes 3 events. First, we end
our 2023-24 year as this will be our last meeting of the season. Second, we will have our traditional Devotion to the Blessed Mother, during which we remember all Ladies Guild Mothers, living and deceased, ending by Crowning Our Blessed Mother.

April 25, Thursday marks the 6th death anniversary of our beloved Msgr. James Tarantino who joined our Creator in the year 2018. He had served over 36 years as a priest of the SF Archdiocese. In 2014, Msgr. Tarantino began his assignment as Pastor of Saint Mark Parish.
Let us remember Msgr. Tarantino and say a prayer for his eternal rest in God's loving embrace.

At the Sunday 9:45 am mass, we invite parishioners to take turns bringing the Vocation cross home to pray the Vocation prayer and Rosary daily, for a week.
