The Solemnity of All Saints is celebrated on November 1. It was instituted to honour all of the saints, both known and unknown.
Please be reminded that Holy Day masses will be held at 8:30 am & 7:00 pm in church.

All Souls Day
November 2
The Church is composed of the faithful living upon the earth and those who have gone before us. The latter includes the Saints in Heaven and the faithful Souls being purified in Purgatory.
Just as on November 1st we honor those who are with God, on November 2nd we celebrate a Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed. On this day we honor them for their fidelity in life, as well as pray for them, since they are being purified before entering the All Holy Presence of God.
Venerable Pierre Toussain (1776-1853)
November is Black Catholic History Month
Each week of November, we present a leader of African descent on the road to sainthood.
Venerable Pierre Toussain, a philanthropist and founder of many Catholic charitable works, sheltered orphans, refuges, and others out on the streets in their home. He founded one of New York’s first orphanages and raised money for the city’s first cathedral. During yellow fever epidemics, Toussaint would risk his life to help others by nursing the sick and praying with the dying.

Parish Reminder
- First Saturday mass on November 2 is at 8:30am, followed by Adoration and Rosary Rally at noon. Light breakfast will be available in the Parish Center.

St Vincent de Paul Conference Appeal & Update
Our SVdP Conference requests items to stock our pantry. We particularly need peanut butter, cooking oil, pasta, pasta sauce, and paper bags. We will set out collection boxes at each door for the weekends of November 2-3 and November 9-10. Any gift you give is welcome and appreciated!
We thank Lisa Margolis (Vice President), Michael Clements (Treasurer), and Matt Lucett (Secretary) for answering the call to serve as officers in our Saint Mark SVdP Conference! Their self-sacrifice truly shows the Vincentian spirit. Please pray for the conference and for our neighbors in need.
Front Redevelopment & Landscape Project Updates
Buljan Construction team will be laying foundations for pavers and concrete and will proceed with base rock installation and compaction and other related works.

Repair works by Bay Area Paving on the driveways will continue through the coming weeks. We will have the same vehicular access setup in and out of the parking lot as last weekend until the repair works are completed.

Save the Date! We will hold a Fellowship to celebrate the ordination of Emmanuel Gutierrez on November 23, Saturday after the 4:30pm mass. We will do a potluck so please sign up in church for the dish that you plan to bring. All are welcome!
