Saint Josephine Bakhita

“Seeing the sun, the moon and the stars, I said to myself: 'Who could be the Master of these beautiful things?' And I felt a great desire to see Him, to know Him and to pay Him homage.” - St Josephine Bakhita saying these words, though she did not know Christ or the redemptive nature of suffering.
On February 8, the Church commemorates the life of St. Josephine Bakhita, a Canossian Sister who was kidnapped and sold into slavery in Sudan. She was beatified in 1992 and canonized shortly after on October 2000 by Pope John Paul II. She is the first person to be canonized from Sudan and is the patron saint of the country.
Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes

On Feb. 11, the Catholic Church celebrates the liturgical memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes, recalling a series of 18 appearances that the Blessed Virgin Mary made to a 14-year-old French peasant girl, Saint Bernadette Soubirous.

We invite you to join us this Saturday at 6:30 pm for an evening of prayer, music and meditation with the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is in celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.
