San Pedro Calungsod
Saint Pedro Calungsod was a migrant, sacristan and missionary catechist, who along with the Spanish Jesuit missionary, Diego Luis de San Vitores, suffered religious persecution and martyrdom in Guam for their missionary work in 1672. Calungsod preached Christianity to the Chamorro people through catechism, while baptizing infants, children and adults at the risk and expense of being persecuted and eventually murdered. Through his missionary efforts, many native Chamorros converted to Roman Catholicism.
Calungsod died on April 2, 1672. He was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on October 21, 2012.

Saint John Baptist de la Salle
April 7
St. John Baptist de la Salle is known for promoting and reforming Christian education, especially amongst the poor. He is also the founder of the Institute of the Brothers of Christian Schools, which now teaches around the world. The French priest was one of the first pedagogues to emphasize classroom teaching in the vernacular instead of in Latin. He also founded three teachers' colleges and, in 1705, he established a reform school for boys at Dijon.
He was canonized by Pope Leo XIII in 1900 and named patron of teachers by Pope Pius XII in 1950.

Feast of San Pedro Calungsod
April 5
The SF Archdiocese Filipino Ministry invites you to the Eucharistic Celebration & Fellowship in celebration of the feast day of San Pedro Calungsod. It will be held at Saint Mark Catholic Church this Saturday, April 5, commencing with the Mass at 11:00 am. Procession, reception and Jubilee Pilgrims Orientation immediately follow at the Parish Center.

LENTEN REMINDERS:
- April 4, Fridays of Lent We shall have our 5th Soup, Scripture & Stations of the Cross this Friday. Thank you to our Pastoral Council, Finance Council and Liturgy Committee for preparing the soup, to the CCD students, Dcn. Rich and Matt Lucett for the Living Stations of the Cross, and to the AV Ministry for livestreaming the Living Stations of the Cross event last Friday, March 28.

- Morning Prayer Service On Holy Thursday, Good Friday & Holy Saturday, we will have the Morning Prayer Service at 8:00 am in church.
- Easter Sunday, Blessing of New Grounds On Easter Sunday, we will have a blessing of our new grounds including the Twin Heart statues inside the church after the 11:30 am mass, followed by a light snack. All are invited!

MINISTRY UPDATES
Speaker Series Update
On March 29, we held the Saint Mark Speaker Series on the topic of Elder Abuse, where we learned 'what it is' and 'how to fight it'. Special thanks to Molly Ryan for the enlightening talk.
The next session will be on April 26, 9:30am, on the topic, Fire Safety by David Lee.
Understanding that fires can strike unexpectedly, David is committed to ensuring everyone is prepared. He will be leading a comprehensive fire safety presentation that will focus on essential topics such as fire prevention, emergency response strategies, and key fire safety practices.
Attendees will learn about the proper use of fire extinguishers, effective evacuation procedures, and the importance of maintaining smoke alarms. David will highlight why planning and practicing fire safety measures is vital for everyone’s safety.
David Lee is the Health and Safety Director for Silicon Valley Clean Water in Redwood City, bringing more than 24 years of experience in safety management to the table. His expertise spans a variety of crucial areas, including strategic management, project management, process improvement, and risk analysis. He is well-versed in navigating the complex landscape of regulatory compliance at local, state, and federal levels, and he has a strong background in workers’ compensation and safety training.

Revival is here. During the summer of 2024, an unprecedented National Eucharistic Pilgrimage moved from the four corners of the United States to Indianapolis, culminating in the 10th National Eucharistic Congress. Given the outpouring of stories involving our Eucharistic Lord's healing, conversion, unity, and peace along the 2024 pilgrimage routes, we have decided to keep the momentum going in 2025!
As the three-year National Eucharistic Revival in the United States draws to a close on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, we are excited to launch the St. Katharine Drexel Route from Indianapolis to Los Angeles and invite you to pray before the Blessed Sacrament along the way.

Camino de California
June 6 - 22, 2025
Join us along the California Camino Real as we continue the life-changing experience and momentum from the 2024 National Eucharistic Pilgrimage. We will meet up in Southern California with the national pilgrims traveling in from Indianapolis on June 22, 2025 in Los Angeles on the Feast of Corpus Christi.
Accompanying our Lord in the Eucharist, we will visit all 21 California Missions beginning June 6, including Works of Mercy, Jubilee and other pilgrimage events along the way. Prayer intentions will be gathered at each stop and carried with us for a special ceremony during our closing mass at the Cathedral in Los Angeles. The Holy Spirit is building a Camino de California for the conversion of souls, one at a time, for His glory!
