Saint Mark the Evangelist
April 25

St. Mark, the Evangelist, is the author of the second Gospel and the patron saint of notaries. He wrote the Gospel in Greek for the Gentile converts to Christianity. St. Mark is often depicted as a winged lion in religious art.
In observance of our Parish patron saint's feast day, we will have prayer service after the 8:30 am mass at the Saint Mark garden (front of Rectory).
Divine Mercy Sunday
April 27
“The light of divine mercy, which the Lord in a way wished to return to the world through Sister Faustina’s charism, will illumine the way for the men and women of the third millennium.” - Pope John Paul II
Divine Mercy Sunday is the Sunday after Easter, first announced in an April 2000 homily by Pope John Paul II for the Mass celebrating the canonization of Maria Faustina Kowalska.
St. Catherine of Siena
April 29
“Be who God meant you to be, and you will set the world on fire.”
Catherine of Siena was born in 1347 in Italy. She was known for her service to the poor and involvement in politics. Her best-known spiritual writing is The Dialogue. Her quotes are still relevant today and can be a launching pad for our personal prayer.

2nd Collection on April 26 & 27 for Catholic Home Missions
The Catholic Home Missions is strengthening the Church at Home by supporting essential pastoral programs in financially challenged dioceses and eparchies in the United States through the annual Catholic Home Missions Appeal. Thank you for your support.
Announcements:
- The schedule for Confession this weekend is on Sunday from 9:00-9:35 am.
- The First Saturday Mass is on May 3, 8:30 am in the chapel, followed by the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Prayers and Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We end with the Benediction at 11:50 am -12:00 pm.
- Lost & Found - We found a bunch of keys in church. Please claim at the parish office; we are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
- The power pole on the west side of the church parking lot will be replaced on Friday, May 9th by a PG&E subcontractor. The service hours will be from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and there will be vehicles and equipment in the lot during the day. There may also be a power outage within our property during the work.

Speaker Series: Fire Safety

Join us on April 26, Saturday, 9:30 am, for the next Saint Mark Speaker Series on the topic, Fire Safety. The invited speaker is David Lee, the Health and Safety Director for Silicon Valley Clean Water in Redwood City, who brings more than 24 years of experience in safety management to the table.
Understanding that fires can strike unexpectedly, David is committed to ensuring everyone is prepared. He will lead a comprehensive fire safety presentation that will focus on essential topics such as fire prevention, emergency response strategies, and key fire safety practices.
Attendees will learn about the proper use of fire extinguishers, effective evacuation procedures, and the importance of maintaining smoke alarms. David will highlight why planning and practicing fire safety measures is vital for everyone’s safety.

As another wonderful school year comes to a close, we are inviting our whole community to celebrate with us, in giving thanks for the dedication of all our young students and families in faith formation! Join us in the 11:30 am Mass as we thank the Lord for the blessings we received this year in our Faith Formation Programs. After the Mass, let's all gather in the Parish Hall for lunch to mingle and be in fellowship with our community.
We will be serving kid and family-friendly food, that people of all ages will enjoy! We will also have a short recognition ceremony, to acknowledge all of our CCD and Youth Confirmation students who have completed their classes this school year.

Ladies Guild Meeting
May 7
All Ladies of the Parish! Our next Ladies Guild meeting, to be held May 7, 6:30 at the Parish Center, is the last meeting of our 2024-2025 season.
In keeping with tradition there are 3 parts to this meeting -- we begin with drinks and appetizers at this year’s luau themed meeting as greetings and camaraderie begins. Next is a special Devotion to the Blessed Mother, during which we remember all our Mothers, living and deceased ending by Crowning Our Blessed Mother. As this is an election year we will then have the installation of the officers.
Following these activities we will continue the meeting with friendship and food!. This is a pot-luck affair so we ask that everyone bring either a heavy appetizer, salad or dessert. In addition, please also bring a flower for the Blessed Mother. Extra flowers will be available if you are unable to do so.

Excell Breakfast Nourished Body & Spirit on a Holy Saturday
"Maranatha! He is risen! After our Lenten penance and the sorrows of the Passion, the Resurrection leads us outward. We are called by the Lord to “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.”
On Holy Saturday, almost fifty guests joined us at the Excell Network breakfast, nourished in spirit by the Excell students and in body by Saint Mark’s Saint Vincent de Paul conference. We heard the testimony of student Anthony, who turned away from a self-centered and self-destructive life and turned toward a life in service of others, focused on love of neighbor. Along with the precious gifts of faith and the Resurrection, God has given us free will. As student L observed, we are one wrong choice from despair but one wise choice from a path of hope. We thank God that the Excell students have chosen to build a better life, and we thank God for their witness to His redeeming grace."

Nationwide Theatrical Release of 'Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality' to Proceed April 27 - May 1
Castletown Media, along with Wahl St. Productions, the National Eucharistic Revival, the McGrath Institute for Church Life, and Fathom Entertainment, were saddened to learn of the death of His Holiness Pope Francis on Easter Monday. In light of this news, the Vatican has indefinitely postponed the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis.

Following consultation with bishops, benefactors, and partners of the film, we are proceeding as planned with the nationwide theatrical release of Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality as scheduled, April 27 - May 1.
