HOLY DAY & FEAST DAY
The Solemnity of All Saints is celebrated on the first of November. It was instituted to honour all of the saints, both known and unknown, and, according to Pope Urban IV, to supply any deficiencies in the faithful's celebration of saints' feasts during the year.
November 1, 2025 the Solemnity of All Saints is a Saturday. According to the 1992 general decree of the USCCB, the precept to attend Mass is dispensed when this solemnity falls on a Saturday or a Monday. All the faithful are encouraged to attend mass on this day but are not obliged.

All Souls Day

The theological basis for the feast is the doctrine that the souls which, on departing from the body are not perfectly cleansed from venial sins, or have not fully atoned for past transgressions, are debarred from the Beatific Vision, and that the faithful on earth can help them by prayers, almsgiving and especially the sacrifice of the Mass.
The commemoration of all the faithful departed is celebrated by the Church on November 2, or, if this falls on a Sunday or a solemnity, the feast is celebrated on November 3.

Speaker Series: Community Resources for Older Adults with Ann Blick Hammer
November 2, 2:30 pm at the Parish Center
Ann Blick Hamer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with older adults and their families navigating the challenges of aging and dementia.
On Saturday, Ann will talk about options that are available including:
- When is a new level of care needed.
- In-home care options, including resources, home care and home health care.
- Senior living options from Independent Living to Memory Care
- The difference between board and care, assisted living, skilled nursing facilities, etc.
She will also discuss transportation options for seniors in the County.
Appeal for More Eucharistic Ministers
The Extraordinary Ministry of the Eucharist was formed to assist the celebrant, other priests, and deacons with the distribution of Holy Communion during weekday and Sunday masses. Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist also assist in bringing the Eucharist to those confined to their homes and nursing/group homes in the area.

COR Activity this Weekend

On Sunday, November 2, we at Cor will watch a short video on sacramental life for us men. Eucharist and Reconciliation are the sacraments we can receive over and over throughout our lives. How will the sacraments help us balance work, family, and faith? How do the sacraments help address issues like forgiveness, integrity, and anxiety?
Come, join us Sundays after the 11:30 Mass at Cor. Cor is Latin for heart. Cor is the root of courage. Find out how Cor might help you be a better man.

Ladies Guild Meeting

Ladies of the Parish! Our next Ladies Guild Meeting is Wednesday, November 5, at 6:30 pm in the Parish Center. We are very excited to announce we have arranged for a speaker who will discuss Fall Prevention, a subject that gives many of us angst. We are extending an invitation to all parish members as this is an important topic for personal safety.
Our business meeting will follow. Our agenda includes the preliminary results of our successful 2025 FallFaire as well as plans for our Advent Giving program and future meetings.

All Saints Family Party
November 8
On Saturday, November 8, all are invited to the All Saints Family Party at the Saint Mark Parish Center.
Doors open at 6:00 pm. Prepare for an evening of great food, family fun & games and music. Dress up as your favorite Saint, we will have a costume contest for Kids and Adults.
Purchase tickets at all Masses from a Knight. Tickets are at $40 for adults and $15 for youth. Children 7 and Under are Free!

We collect a variety of items that are shared with other ministries for outreach, or repurposed and more. Please take time to check the list and save the
items you have for donation. All items may be left in the church workroom on the counter where the Catholic Worker House and Lost & Found boxes are located.

4. New greeting cards and envelopes used by Ladies Guild, Restorative Justice, etc.
These can be Christmas or all occasion cards
5. Hotel giveaways of small sized toiletries, soaps used for unhoused sanitation needs
6. Dental supply handouts from your dentist
7. Freebie inserts from charities requesting donations. These can be religious items,
decorative shopping bags, note pads, etc.
8. Pens or markers no longer working
9. Crayons (broken or stubs)
10. Empty toner cartridges or bottles
11. Personal products (shampoo, conditioner, etc); cleaning or laundry supplies, black garbage bags used by Catholic Worker House.

Saint Mark Youth Activity at the FallFaire
Ladies Guild provided a “Search and Learn” activity for the CCD children to enjoy while the annual Fall Faire was going on. Children learned about the relic on the altar, pointed out Our Lady of Guadalupe, confessional box, Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Mark statue. Ladies Guild provided prices for all the CCD Children!

The keynote speaker is Father Agustino Torres, CFR. Our theme is “Hope Does Not Disappoint” “La Esperanza No Desilusiona” Presentations will be in English and Spanish.
