Saint Sebastian
January 20
Sebastian was an officer of the imperial Roman army, and Captain of the Guard. He was a favorite of Emperor Diocletian. During Diocletian's persecution of the Christians, Sebastian visited them in prison, bringing both supplies and comfort.
Charged as a Christian in 288 in Rome, Sebastian was tied to a tree, shot with arrows, and left for dead. However, he survived, recovered, and returned to preach to Diocletian, where the emperor then had him beaten to death.

Saint Agnes
January 21
On Jan. 21, the Roman Catholic Church honors the virgin and martyr St. Agnes, who suffered death for her consecration to Christ. Although the details of Agnes' life are mostly unknown, the story of her martyrdom has been passed on with reverence since the fourth century.

Important Parish Update
Fr. Angel will be leading the pilgrimage of the Filipino Ministry and will be out of the country from January 26 to February 23. Fr. Eli Solomon will be presiding at our daily masses and most of the Sunday masses, while Fr Angel is away. He will also hear confessions on Saturdays based on our regular schedule and by appointment. Pilgrimage Notice of Cancellation
We regret to announce that the Pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Switzerland & Croatia in April has been cancelled. We did not meet the minimum number of pilgrims. We thank those who signed up for their support of this fundraiser.
Birthdays at Communal Supper
Communal Supper is held on Saturdays at the Parish Center after the 4:30 pm mass. It's a great moment to share food and have fun & fellowship with your co-parishioners!

MINISTRY UPDATE
Cleaning out closets?
Ladies Guild’s annual collection of gently used, clean SWEATS, SWEAT-SHIRTS AND COATS continues through this coming weekend of
January 17-18.
These items are shared with Catholic Worker House, Redwood City and given to those unhoused or in-need friends. Our donations are critical to providing dry, clean and warm items during these cold, wet winter months.
If you are replacing or cleaning out closets please save any clean sweats that are still
wearable. Items may be left in the bins in the workroom located to the right of the altar.
Hands of God
Our Social Justice ministers will be selling Hands of God envelopes after the masses this weekend of January 17-18. Every $10 Hands of God envelope includes a McDonald’s gift card, a prayer card and a helpful resource card for a neighbor in need. Thank you for your generosity.

Walk for Life West Coast 2026
Join fellow Catholics and Pro‐Lifers from all over California and beyond as we stand up for the littlest among us at the 22nd Annual Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco on January 24, 2026. There will be Mass at 9:30 am celebrated by Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The rally begins at 12:30 pm in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza, and the Walk, down the city’s Market Street, begins at 1:30 pm. Update from COR
Men of Saint Mark parish met at Cor to talk about prayer and consider how to pray better. Prayer is not optional, prayer is required for us men in the same way as oxygen or sleep. We have to have communication with God. Prayer is not easy, prayer is a battle where we fight against ourselves and against distractions. We really fight against Satan who hates anything or anyone that God loves – us.
The conversation was lively. We all had stories of difficulty praying. There are many good examples of saints who overcame those same difficulties and whom we can use as models today. What are you waiting for? Join the men of Cor at Saint Mark,
