Saint Cyril of Alexandria
June 27Saint Cyril was one of the most influential theologians of the early Church, remembered for his defense of the Truth about Jesus Christ and his role in shaping Christian doctrine. He defended the Church’s teaching that Jesus Christ is one Person with two natures, who is fully God and fully man. He was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1882, in recognition of his immense contributions to theology.

The First Marytrs of the Holy Roman Church
June 30These “proto-martyrs” of Rome were the first Christians persecuted en masse by the Emperor Nero in the year 64, before the martyrdom of Saints Peter and Paul. These martyrs were called the “Disciples of the Apostles” and their firmness in the face of their gruesome deaths were a powerful testimony that led to many conversions in the early Roman Church.

Appeal for Altar Servers & Eucharistic Ministers

Singing Priests of Tagbilaran
June 27
The singing priests from the Diocese of Tagbilaran in Bohol, Philippines will celebrate mass at Saint Mark on June 27, 2026 at 4:30 pm. After the mass, there will be a Benefit Reception & Concert at the parish center, hosted by the Filipino Ministry of the SF Archdiocese. During the reception, we will also celebrate our Saint Mark June birthday celebrants. Everyone is invited!

Ladies Guild Summer Sessions
July 1Ladies of the Parish, the second of our three Ladies Guild Summer drop-in sessions is Wednesday, July 1 at 11:30 am in the Saint Mark (Flanagan) Parish Center. There is no formal meeting, just a chance to come together in fellowship, share ideas and enjoy the company. Bring your lunch and if you are so inclined, a treat to share with others. We hope you will join us!

Faith Formation Program Registration Opens!
St. Mark's Faith Formation has opened Registration for the Faith Formation Program for 2026-2027. Registration Forms can be found on our Parish Website saintmarkbelmont.com or in the Front of the Church for physical application. All registration will be physical forms.
To register your child: please complete the Registration Form and Faith Formation Handbook in their entirety, and submit both documents and Tuition to the Front Office. Written Checks should be written out to St. Mark's Faith Formation Program.
Registration for the Faith Formation Program will stay open from June 14, 2026 to September 20, 2026.

As we have officially entered the season of Summer, the Knights of Columbus wish everyone fun and safety with all your activities.
Come join us on Sunday, July 5th as we celebrate our Nation’s 250th birthday with our Free Annual Pancake Breakfast in the Parish Hall after the 8:00 and 9:45 am Sunday Masses. And also please mark your calendars to join us on Sunday August 9 th after the morning Masses for a lifesaving blood drive. Information and details on the Blood Drive and on the Annual Casino Excursion (“ACE”) will be shared soon.

Excell Students Keep on Thriving!
On Saturday, June 20, about forty guests and students gathered for the Excell Network breakfast, hosted by the Saint Mark Ladies Guild. Thanks to your generous support, our students continue to progress and thrive – academically and spiritually. Community is so important to us!
Speaker Clinton Moore (shown in photo) related how his life turned by letting go of grievances and accepting God’s call to leadership and fellowship within the prison and now on the outside. First, he had to forgive himself. “If God is willing to forgive me, how can I not forgive myself? Am I greater than God?” Only through humble faith do we overcome the snares of the Devil and live the life that God has planned for us.

A Twilight Tour of Saint Dominic Church
A small group of us arrived at the beautiful Saint Dominic Church in San Francisco to enjoy the twilight tour of the magnificent stained glass windows thorough out the church. The tour, which is led by well informed docents, is held on summer solstice each year as the prolonged sunlight adds wonderful light to the windows. The two main windows are high above the front entrance doors, Christ in Glory as well as the main altar, The Crucifixion. They are a mix of two different artists both using color and figures that depict many of our Catholic beliefs as well as many people from Saint Dominic’s life.
Saint Dominic Church has been described as one of the most beautiful in the country. We would agree!

Mission Dolores Basilica celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the founding of Miśion San Francisco de Asís: Parishes are cordially invited to celebrate with Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, presider, and Rev. Jack Clark Robinson, OFM, homilist. The liturgy will include music of the Mission period. Come and enjoy our special anniversary exhibits in the mission church, museum and cemetery.
