HOLY DAY & FEAST DAY
Saint Teresa of Jesus, Virgin and Doctor of the Church
October 15The Prayer of Teresa of Ávila:
“Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.”

PARISH ANNOUNCEMENT
Second Collection on October 17 & 18
In many parts of the world, the Church is vibrant and growing, yet it lacks the resources needed to sustain growth. World Mission Sunday supports the formation of future priests and religious, the education of children in the faith, the care of the sick and the life of parishes where the Gospel is still being proclaimed for the first time.
In this centenary year, we are reminded that mission is not the task of a few but the responsibility of all the baptized. Each prayer offered, each sacrfice made, and each gift given becomes an act of missionary communion -- helping to bring the light of Christ to every corner of the world. Thank you for your generosity.
All Souls Remembrance
You can submit the names of your deceased loved ones to be included in our prayer list for the month of November. Please do not include names you have already submitted in the past.
Email the list to dinna@saintmarkbelmont.com or submit a typed or clearly handwritten copy to the parish office.
Pilgrimage to Mexico
Fr. Angel will be leading the pilgrimage to Mexico, organized by the Filipino Ministry of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, from October 18-24. During his absence, our daily masses will be celebrated by Fr. Lee & Fr Stephen Idoko.
Parish Annual Finance Report
We are pleased to share the highlights of the annual finance report presented by Dcn. Rich last weekend:
- Sunday Collection & Investment Income funded our operations. Net Operating Income is $63k.
- Major projects completed: Parish Center roof and the parish & rectory kitchen renovations, funded by Restricted Donations.
- AAA exceeded the goal by $18k, with 166 families contributing. This excess is being returned to the parish.
For the coming year, we will rely more on Sunday Collection, given a lower Investment balance. Monthly collection needs to reach $26,000 to cover basic costs.
As you plan your household budgets, please remember Saint Mark. We are One Family and need the support of each one. It takes all of us, not just a few.
We thank the Finance Council members and our volunteers who handle various aspects of the finance function:
- Finance Council- Fr. Angel, Dcn Rich Dizon (Chair), Teri Baxter, Dinna Bayangos, Linda Slezak, and Joe Wucher.
- Elsa Atendido, Ken Braband, Noel de Ocampo, Donna Mackay and Hazel Zecha

Pope Leo XIV marks 100 years of World Mission Sunday with new video message (click above links). As Catholics around the world prepare to celebrate the 100th anniversary of World Mission Sunday on Oct. 18, Pope Leo XIV has released a special video message thanking the faithful for a century of prayer and generosity and calling them to renew their commitment to the Church's missionary work.
“Looking back on my youth, I can see how the prayers offered to the Lord of the harvest mysteriously helped prepare my heart to hear Jesus’ call to follow Him as an Augustinian missionary,” Pope Leo says in the video. “Moreover, the prayers and contributions of the faithful encouraged and sustained my missionary work in Peru, as well as that of countless others throughout the world. For this reason, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported World Mission Sunday over the years.”
